The Lamborghini Aventador is a mid-engined sports car produced by the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini.
Launched on 28 February 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show, five months after its initial unveiling in Sant'Agata Bolognese, the vehicle, internally codenamed LB834, was designed to replace the ten-year-old Murciélago as the new flagship model.

POWERTRAIN

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 has a 12-cylinder engine in its center, just like its legendary predecessor. It was newly developed and weighs only 235 kg. Thanks to 700 hp (515 kW), a displacement of 6,498 cm3 (396.5 cu.in.) and a maximum torque of 690 Nm (507 lbft) it is the strongest engine ever built by Lamborghini.

FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE

The Aventador accelerates from 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 350 kph (217 mph). The engine achieves these fantastic numbers with the help of the 7 speed ISR gearbox and its shifting time of only 50 milliseconds. Via Drive Select Mode you can choose from three different shifting characteristics: Strada, Sport and Corsa. You can either let the gearbox shift automatically, or you can select gears manually by using the shift paddles on the steering wheel.
The permanent all-wheel drive makes sure your throttle input is being transferred perfectly onto the tarmac. An electronically controlled Haldex generation IV clutch is responsible for the power distribution. Depending on the chosen drive mode, it transfers up to 60 percent of the available torque to the front wheels.
Nowadays a super sports car is no longer judged by its performance alone, fuel economy is also an important topic. In order to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions the Aventador has, amongst other things, a cylinder deactivation and a start stop system with supercapacitors. Thanks to this technology, an engine restart takes only 180 milliseconds – much faster than any conventional start stop system. As you can see, the Aventador sets the pace in many areas.ENGINE
